Technical analysis is evidence, not permission

Learn why a technical chart pattern or indicator reading can inform a trading candidate without authorizing an order or bypassing backend execution gates.

CryptoIQ Sentinel — backend-gated trading cockpit and decision receipts

A candle describes a source and an interval

A candle summarizes trades over a time bucket: opening, high, low and closing prices plus volume. The venue, market, interval and observation time define the input. The Coinbase Exchange candle documentation defines these fields and warns that its historical data can be incomplete, including intervals with no ticks. A gap in that feed is not a measured zero price or proof that nothing happened elsewhere.

Hypothetical example: three completed closes of 10, 12 and 11 have an arithmetic average of 11. The average describes those inputs. It does not predict the next close or imply a buy or sell instruction. An unfinished candle can still change; a historical study must distinguish what was known then from what arrived later.

A fitted pattern needs evidence beyond its fit

Trying many indicator settings and reporting only the best historical result hides the selection process. Bailey and colleagues’ paper The Probability of Backtest Overfitting examines this problem. An attractive in-sample result is not evidence of future performance. Two indicators computed from the same price history are not automatically independent confirmations.

A research description needs the rules examined, the data available at decision time, missing-data handling, cost assumptions and a separate evaluation period. Even a carefully documented evaluation cannot promise future results or turn a historical pattern into execution permission.

An explanation is not an execution permit

In CryptoIQ Sentinel, Jeff can narrate observed market context; that narration is not a signed decision contract or broker approval. For the cockpit and hosted Live path, account and venue readiness, first-live approval and the deterministic guard chain remain separate requirements. Rollbit Live claims also require the engine to verify a signed decision contract, pass LiveOrderGuard and mint a bound Execution Permit, which the extension verifies before acting on the page. The extension is read-only on CEX pages. A chart reading, model score or educational example cannot supply those permissions.

Watch is read-only. Paper is simulated; Replay is historical playback; Shadow observes without submitting. Keep those records separate from live broker fills. Published by CryptoIQ. Educational material, not investment advice.

Read Jeff’s market observation

Inspect the market, source, observation time, expiry and what would change the read. An expired or unavailable observation is not a current trading opportunity.

Open public Watch

New accounts receive a 7-day Starter trial with two Jeff analyses, subject to account-scoped availability. When the trial ends, auto-paper pauses and Free retains public Watch. Trial access does not include ongoing free conversational analysis. A plan or trial alone never authorizes Live execution.

Operating modes and verification path

Every surface on CryptoIQ Sentinel separates read-only Watch observation, 10,000 USD simulated Paper practice with no cash value, historical Replay analysis, Shadow observation, and backend-certified Live venue execution. Operators can review public decision receipts, verify trading-scoped API key custody boundaries, and inspect gate refusal reasons before considering any live order path. Educational material only, not financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
